The discovery of seven Earth-sized planets orbiting a (relatively) nearby dwarf star raises plenty of questions. Could they possibly harbor liquid water? What are the conditions like and what kind of life, if any, could exist there? While there is much to learn about these distant, potentially habitable worlds, scientists do already have a handle on a few of the key features.
