Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo, VSS Unity, today reached a new personal record on its fifth powered test flight as well as carrying its first passenger. The supersonic, rocket-powered spaceflight over Mojave, California with its complement of two test pilots and a mission specialist reached an altitude of 295,007 ft (89,918 m) and a top speed of Mach 3.04 (2,255 mph, 3,629 km/h).
