A new two-step diagnostic process is claiming to confidently detect Alzheimer's disease nearly a decade before clinical symptoms appear. The method, measuring both amyloid and tau proteins in blood and cerebrospinal fluid is hoped to improve the results of clinical trials by helping better identify patients at the earliest stages of the disease.
