One big question: What laws of quantum mechanics could have made the Big Bang a Big Bounce instead?

US Army tests drones that sniff out clouds of chemical agents

Now a team from the US Army's Edgewood Chemical and Biological Center (ECBC) have tested a new pair of unmanned vehicles to detect chemical and biological agents.

Dawn spacecraft fires up for a fresh view of Ceres

Acer Swift 7 laptop is the new king of thin

When Apple launched the Macbook, it immediately set tongues wagging with its super-slim chassis. Since then, the race to get thinner and lighter hasn't let up. The 10.4 mm (0.41 in) HP Spectre was labelled the world's slimmest laptop earlier this year, but the 9.98 mm (0.39 in) Acer Swift 7 used IFA 2016 to steal that crown.
