Evolution is normally thought of on the scale of millions of years, but a new study has observed how human activity has directly driven separate populations of geckos to evolve new attributes in the space of just 15 years.

Are creepy-crawly clothing robots the future of fashion?

Last year, a team of researchers from MIT and Stanford showcased a new direction for wearable electronics in the form of mini-robots called Rovables that could roam over a person's body. Now the team has refined the technology with the launch of Project Kino, a collaborative effort with designers from London's Royal College of Art that explores ways these kinetic wearables could open up new aesthetic and functional clothing possibilities.

Electric outfit gives your back a break

Vanderbilt University's assistant professor Karl Zelik says that he's "sick of Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne being the only ones with performance-boosting supersuits." That's why he teamed up with Ph.D. student Erik Lamers to create a mechanized undergarment. While it doesn't allow the wearer to fly or have phenomenal strength, it could very likely keep them from putting their back out.
