Last week Artcurial held a D-Day sale - the entire contents of a World War II museum. World record prices were commonplace across the sale which exceeded all expectations and rocked the war memorabilia marketplace. Moreso than that, the museum-quality lots were the weapons, transport, uniforms, and tools of both sides – every aspect of perhaps the most important single military confrontation in history and a fascinating way of looking at the technologies of WWII and the evolution of warfare.
