Back in October 2016, the XPrize foundation turned its attention to the issue of water security, pointing to the growing strain placed on water sources by rapid population growth and climate change. Its US$1.75 million Water Abundance Prize aims to inspire ideas that can draw water from the atmosphere, and it has just announced its five finalists.
