The Indian Navy joins an exclusive maritime club as sea trials are completed on its first of two 3rd Generation Submarine Rescue Systems being delivered by British-based JFD. An advance on the company's earlier rescue submersibles, the new rescue system's Deep Sea Search and Rescue (DSRV) vessel set new dive records in the Indian Ocean as it mated with a submarine on the sea bottom at a depth of 300 ft (91 m) and an angle of 45⁰ before taking aboard the "survivors."
