We're used to seeing space launches from the ground, but when the Russian Progress MS-10 cargo spacecraft lifted off on November 16, 2018 from Baikonur cosmodrome, Kazakhstan, ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst aboard the International Space Station (ISS) had the best seat in the house. Orbiting 400 km (250 mi) above the Earth, Gerst captured a time-lapse video of the ascending Soyuz rocket as it began its two-day journey to the station.
