In December 2016 President Trump appointed Ajit Pai as chairman of the FCC. Upon accepting the position Pai declared, "We need to fire up the weed whacker and remove those rules that are holding back investment, innovation, and job creation." A little under a year later and Pai is making good on his promises with a new order entitled "Restoring Internet Freedom" being put to vote by the Republican-controlled FCC Board in mid-December. The order is set to dramatically repeal Obama's net neutrality regulations from 2015.
